5.NMR lab

Yesterday was my NMR lab and it is interesting. The complicated chart below took us around 2 hours to understand and identify what is the impurities. Starting is always the difficult one but after the explanation from the demostrator, at least i understand what i am doing. ( But not tatally, i am still....cofusing in some part )

Before we start our work, we actually got a short briefing from Dr. Sandy, one of the very good lecturer in UoS ( Respect, respect )
Some of his words really catch my attention and i noticed that he like to use the word 'your favourite grandmother' in giving example.( PS : not scolding rude word )

Dr. Sandy : Treat all your patient like your favourite grandmother. If i ask you to dispense these paracetamol tablets to your patient, u must ensure that ur favourite grandmother will still alive tomorrow. So, we have to make sure that all the tablets u dispense are safe to your patient. We are doing this ( the analytic work ) not because we need to but is to make sure our product is safe to the patient.

PS: I already rephrase the words from the original conversation.

Well, u can see how important is a pharmacist right? haha..Patient focus is important.

4.Stressful sem 6

Semester 6 classes are really hectic and pack. Although we only have 3 subjects to go but these are the tough one. 7 hours lecture in a day and it is able to cover up to 40 to 50 pages of the module notes ( I think more than that, cant remember ) After listening to all the story from our seniors, we are now more anxious, stress and worry for the end of semester exam. High failing rate especially for PP3 due to negative marking scheme. So P105, just work for the very best and i really hope that everyone of us and go pass this semester.

3.Food food food!!!

Already 2 weeks since the day i arrived to Glasgow. Everything is fine and one thing i really miss the most is the delicious food from Malaysia. Over here, you will see many shops selling sandwiches and burger. From here, i notice that the people over here always get sandwiches and burger as their meal, usually lunch time. I am now having phobia of eating bread but no choice because it is the cheapest food. 40p u will get 1 loaf of bread and we have no time to prepare our lunch due to busy timetable. ( only 1 hour break !! ) Well, the best decision is to eat SANDWICH!

Tips to junior : Eat more food in Malaysia. Dont eat so much bread because you will eat a lot here. For those who dunno how to cook, it is best for u to learn now.

Wondering what food we can get here?? You will save a lot of money if u cook at home. It depends on what u cook. Usually it costs around 1-2 pound per meal, and share between 4 of us. So, u do the calculation how much it is
Anyway, dont worry bout living cost. If you can cook, you will save a lot :-

2. West End Festival

Date : 9 June 2007
During the briefing session, we were told that there gonna be a West End festival at Hillhead. Eventually, we dicided to travel all the way there and check out what is going on there. I am not sure about this event but it was a nice experience to look at the parade formed by groups of people who dress up with nice suits, dancing, playing music instrument and walking down the street.


Super big pieces of fish and chips and it is only 3 pounds.

1.Way to Scotland,Glasgow

Date : 5 June 2007
This a meaningful day to me, to P105 as well.This is the day we are leaving to Scotland, time flies. I gonna miss malaysia for one year, especially my family members and of cos the FOOD!! homecook food, penang delicious hawker food and much much more. no more prawn mee, no more laksa, no more cendol ( unless we can make it ourself, i dont think so,hardly )
P105 is now closer to their goal, and we will definitely return with a degree.
Thanks to my parent and relatives for giving me all the support, financially and metally. I goona miss all of you for a year. I will return with a degree and will make you proud :) Thanks for everything.
From Penang, i will go to Singapore, transit the flight to London and then to Glasgow. A total of 13 hours tiring flight. The seat inside the plane is so small and narrow, hardly for me to have good sleep.What to do, this iseconomic class. My first time sticking my butt on the plane seat, fun and exciting.woo hoo~~ Here we go....I am sure that we gonna have lots of fun in Glasgow, and of course STUDY!!
